This spring break, my friends and I decided that we wanted to do something different than the majority and head to South Beach, Miami. Since half of my family lives in Florida, I've been there about a hundred times and it feels like a second home to me. However I had yet to see Miami - the city of Cuban culture and beautiful women.
We stayed at The President Hotel in South Beach rather than in the city, which was a decision well made. We were within perfect walking distance of the beach, ocean drive, clubs and the infamous Española Way. There were rows upon rows of Italian, Mexican and American-style outdoor restaurants next to high end shopping strips. We never struggled to find something to do.
During our first day we spent our time exploring the area, dining at a Mexican restaurant along the beach (with the best guacamole I've ever tasted might I add) and settling into our hotel. Rather than going out that night we decided to take a speaker to the beach and listen to music. We were all exhausted from the flight, and the hilarious memories we made that night even despite doing next to nothing made it my favorite night of the trip.
The following days consisted of questionable boat cruises, SLS pool parties, the most insane clubs I've ever experienced and bar tabs that nearly put me in cardiac arrest. The weather was beautifully sunny and forgiving, but I'm sure we would've been fine with anything other than Michigan's frigid conditions.
Overall, I would highly recommend South Beach to anyone interested, as I am already dying to return myself. I'm so grateful for the good company (Nicole & Mariah) that I could share this trip with. Until next time Miami! Now cue Ocean Drive by Duke Dumont...
