Artist: Lindsay Rapp

Writer's picture: MegMeg

The Lindsay Rapp Gallery resides in Philadelphia’s network of art galleries in Old City. Rapp was born and raised in Florida, her passion for painting was discovered at the young age of 4, when she was published in thousands of calendars and interviewed on television. By the age of 24, Lindsay had opened her first gallery.

"As many have done in mythology, I relate the beauty and energy of water to feminine power. Water has long been equated with the feminine aspects of creation, nature and spirituality. I see the ocean as life giving, fertile, powerful, sensual, changing and mysterious. In my art, my brush strokes mimic expressions of water. My paints create currents, splashes and fluidity. I am inspired by water's glimmering interaction with light. The harmony of my used elements combined with the dichotomy of my muses' power and softness reflects my interpretation of the sea in relation to femininity."

Lindsay Rapp dedicates a percentage of all her sales towards Ocean Conservation Charities such as Ocean Conservancy, Oceana, National Marine Mammal Foundation, etc. I have personally followed Rapp's artistic development and work through social media platforms and am in constant awe at every piece she creates.
