Remember that last blog post where I said I had a serious problem spending my paychecks on music festivals? Well, it happened again.
This past weekend I made the impulsive decision of buying a ticket to Electric Forest, and I can confidently say I will be returning every year. The festival was the most fun I've ever had and allowed me to see a completely different side to music, nature, art and people. Not only does the festival contain some of the top EDM/Funk/House artists, but it also displays the most unique atmosphere I've ever experienced in my entire life.
They call it Electric Forest for a reason - It's literally in the middle of a random forest in small-town Michigan. Once you step foot in the forest, its like stepping foot onto another planet. A planet filled with lights, music, gardens, structures, live acrylic painters, bubble blowers, hammocks, vendors, clothing booths, campfires... the list of possibilities with this Rothbury forest was unimaginable. Everyone was wearing layers of tribal patterns, beads, metallics, hand crafted jewelry, pashminas on top of pashminas.
Without a doubt in my mind I can say I loved every breathing moment of this weekend, but for me it was about so much more than a concert ticket. Counting down the days until I can experience this all over again! #HappyForest
