Another week, another Intersection concert!
Thinking back to Electric Forest, I remembered a defining moment when walking through the festival. As we were headed to see another artist in the back of the forest, I heard someone on one of the many stages we were passing and I was extremely impressed and fascinated. The music sounded so soothing and different than what I've heard before, and I looked over and asked one of my best friends who was performing. They told me it was Zhu, a very unique EDM/House/Alternative musician.
Ever since summer festival season, I have obsessed over Zhu's music and provocative, sexy, Casanova style. I knew when he was scheduled to perform in Grand Rapids that we had to see him. From the opener to the end, I could not take my eyes from the stage. He had such an astonishing range from beautiful singing, house beats and desert visuals to filth drops and piano performances. He walked out in a long black trench coat, with a black fedora and aviators covering most of his face. The mysterious vibe that Zhu emanates is what attracts so many to his music and overall vibe. This will go down as one of my favorite Intersection experiences, and an artist I will continue to obsess over for a long time.
